Blazing Saddles in Granbury

Blazing Saddles in Granbury

The blazing saddles 75 mile ride was one of the best rides I have ever been too. And best of all it was right here in Granbury. This area is really ideal for challenging cycling. We have naturally hilly terrain that made this ride especially hard. After all, if you are going to ride, it needs to be a challenge right?

The course started out at Granbury middle school and headed toward Glen Rose. It wound through back roads in the three rivers area and close to chalk mountain before it headed back toward Tolar. My Garmin recorded over 4400 feet of climbing in the 75 miles. With out a doubt, this ride is actually harder than the HHH so if you finished this in style, you are ready to go to Wichita and do well.

Scott Pangle and the other organizers did a great job of marking the roads so there was never any question of getting lost. There were well stocked stops at least every 10 miles and I saw an abundance or sag vehicles and other support.

We were proud to be a sponsor of this ride and we look forward to an even bigger involvement on the 2013 ride! Thanks to all of the volunteers and the organizers for making this such a good ride. If you missed it this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next year.

If you live in the Granbury area, we have a regular road ride from our shop every Thursday, come out and ride with us!
